There is something inside all of us that wants to see the impossible happen. We find ourselves sitting on the edge of our seats to watch the underdog face the mighty, often pulling for a team from somewhere we have never heard of or rooting for the guy who emerges from seemingly nowhere. Somehow we all connect with the likely 'not' to succeed, the little guy facing the giant, the Cinderella. But something even more magical happens when all seems hopeless and all seems lost, defeat appears emanate and then... The tide turns, the momentum shifts, and you begin to believe something great is about to happen. The Comeback! It is in our hearts to yearn for comebacks. Seeing someone pull themselves from tyranny, dispare, certain defeat and rise to great heights is exciting to watch and exhilarating to experience. The Bible is full of such experiences. Sarah's comeback from old-age, Jacob's comeback from a dysfunctional family, and Paul's comeback from religious radicalism are just a few of the stories that we will explore.
